Many companies maintain an in-house security staff for one reason or another. But is that really the most effective and economical to ensure the security and safety needs are met?
Contracting for guards may be less expensive when you take into account salaries, benefits, taxes, insurance, overtime, holidays, uniforming costs, and the costs of preparing and auditing payrolls. Other benefits to the client include more flexibility in the usage of manpower, not having to absorb cost of recruiting, interviewing, investigating applicant backgrounds, or training.
Although there are benefits, companies need to be cognizant when working security companies. Many companies are not properly licensing (Private Patrol Operator in California for example) or maintain general liability, errors and omissions insurance, and workers compensation coverage. Be sure to double check their paperwork and verify it with the state regulatory agency.
Be safe out there-
